HCID: High-Consequence Infectious Diseases

Are you ready to serve as your organization’s first line of defense against emerging global health threats? High-Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCIDs)—such as Ebola, Marburg, MERS-CoV, and novel respiratory threats—don’t arrive with warning sirens. They walk quietly through your front door disguised as routine fever or cough. Designed for clinical providers, administrative receivers, and commercial frontline operators alike, this 2 to 4-hour micro-credential equips you with the pattern recognition, immediate threshold containment, and incident command skills required to freeze pathogens at the boundary. Master syndromic screening, negative-pressure controls, risk-level PPE, and inter-agency escalation to protect your team, preserve facility continuity, and earn your certified HCID Frontline Readiness Credential.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Course Description

The Awareness for High-Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) credential is an essential workforce-protection training program designed to transform frontline personnel into vigilant “sentinel sensors.” In an interconnected world, high-consequence special pathogens pose immediate risks to patient safety, staff health, and facility continuity of operations. This course shifts the paradigm from waiting for slow laboratory PCR diagnoses to executing immediate, pattern-based defensive controls within the first critical minutes of presentation.

This credential is designed for a multi-disciplinary audience across three specialized operational tracks:

  1. Healthcare Clinical: Physicians, Emergency/ICU Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Paramedics, and Triage Specialists.
  2. Healthcare Non-Clinical: Patient Access Specialists, Registration Clerks, Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisors, Security Personnel, Facilities Engineers, and Logistics Managers.
  3. Commercial & Public Safety (Other Sectors): Hospitality Directors, Venue & Stadium Operations Supervisors, Cruise Line Officers, Transit Authorities, and Emergency Managers.
